I'm hungry...

I've been hungry for days, only eating as much as I need to for my stomach not to hurt. And there are two reasons for that:

a) It's my time of the month, and I don't eat much during this time of the month.

but mainly

b) It's the Lent, and my mom has taken to cooking meat very rarely, instead providing us with vast amounts of vegetables and legumes.

Yes, I know that's the way it should be, religiously speaking. And I also know that it's better for our health not to eat meat six days a week, as is my wont. But seriously... one meatless meal per day is all I can manage.

If I disappear any time before 8 April (Greek Orthodox Easter), it means I've starved to death.

See ya,
Anna.

Poor you! I do not know much about Lent, but surely the purpose can't be to have people starve or get sick from it. That should go against any religious belief I know of (not having one to start with, me).

I'd suggest going out around lunch or dinner time so you can get yourself a plate full of meat. Greek mixed meals served in restaurants here is quite delicious. ;)

Good luck! You'll need it for the next month, I would think.

We start classes next week (not tomorrow, after all...) so I'll have more chances to eat out.

I'm a meat addict, seriously. :p I don't mind a meatless meal every now and then but my stomach will refuse two full meatless meals per day. Which is why I end up eating just a little, which is why I'm always hungry during fasting periods. :p It would do me good to outgrow this addiction a bit, but, alas...

Thanks! :)

See ya,
Anna.

You actually have to meals filled with meat a day? So that's like having a light dinner and dinner? We just have breakfast, lunch and dinner. And dinner being the only meal with actual meat. We do have some meat on our bread during lunch, but that's quite insignificant.

Like you, I adore meat. Only on days I feel sick, I can really stand to go without meat, but mostly, not even then.

If you no longer want to live with the meat-starving, don't do fasting, maybe? Though I do admire people who can do it for a religious belief. To have a faith strong enough to go against your normal daily routines. So this might not be an option for you.

I mean I prefer to eat meat with both my lunch and my dinner. Or, if not meat per se, chicken, fish... I just had fish and I'm feeling much better. :)

I normally fast only during the last week of the Lent. No meat, no eggs, no milk, nothing coming from animals. But now my mom is bent into keeping us as far away from meat as possible during the entirety of the Lent. For one, she will just plain refuse to cook meat on Wendesdays and Fridays (supposedly the most 'sacred' days).

Anyways... I'll try to avoid meat as much as I can. I just don't think that means very much. :p

See ya,
Anna.

Lol, you should know my recommendation. Poor Anna, addicted to meat . . . and I'll say no more before someone reminds me of MY addictions . . . namely to machines like the one I'm using right now . . .

it's important to eat at that particular time of the month. I know otherwise I tend to catch up any nasty virus that comes nearby.

completely OT, I've put on 3 kilos! yes me and putting on weight in the same sentence, can you believe it?!

oh, you starv to death? nah!! here, have some of those. tastes like Heaven:
