Statistics and generally exams update
Sep. 10th, 2007 04:07 pmCurrently working on Statistics exercises. It's one of my worst subjects ever but I think I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Let's hope so, because the exam is tomorrow morning.
And Wednesday morning is the Inorganic Chemistry I exam.
Wish me luck, folks.
See ya,
Anna.

Break a leg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Date: 2007-09-10 01:23 pm (UTC)Oh yeah, so said custom stipulates you can't wish *what you just asked for in your entry* 'cause it's bad luck. which is why, instead, french students usually wish themselves Merde! (yeah, it's a rude and shitty word) so, only in exams contest:
Merde=good luck. I tell you, french too know about "be careful what you wish for". though I still can't quite nail why we choosed to replace it by *that* particular word. I mean, wouldn't "3000 IQ (for your next exam)", "God speed" or "insight" whatever positive and more poetic than "Merde" sound better?
anyway: star+Merde à toi! and anything you could wish for for tomorrow!

Date: 2007-09-10 02:25 pm (UTC)they say it in dance world as well? that's cool! I mean...as far as I can remember, each time I had exam, an audition (music world), a concert (also music), a job interview, a battle (as in fetching), a well: dance on stage (hobby) or some difficult things to do, friends or relatives always went: Merde!
Re: Break a leg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Date: 2007-09-10 02:27 pm (UTC)yeah, so they all go telling me "Merde"!
first time I was like: huh? what happened to "good luck, sweetie!"?
and they'll tell me about that superstitionof ours that saying it *before*/ you took or passed the thing was bad luck. But less people do it now.
