Bookie thoughts :p

We went to the book exposition here in Kalamata tonight. We've been going almost every year for the past ten years or so.

It feels so weird, seeing all these books and NOT getting cravings to buy half the merchandise. There were many books that seemed interesting but somehow I *knew* I wouldn't be sitting down to read them.

I also realized I haven't grown up as a reader at all. I'm afraid to move to something more "adult" - the things that would catch my eye would be Greek kids/teens literature, Enid Blyton, stuff like that. I considered Agatha Christie for a while but I ended up with Meg Cabot's The Princess Diaries (Vol. I). Something light I know I will sit down and finish in a reasonable amount of time.

I never, ever thought I'd outgrow books or reading, but it happened. Sigh. I've been reading books since I was 4, and now it feels like I've lost a friend.

I always wonder what it'll be like to grow up and not read as much as I do now. It's such a big part of my life, as is livejournal. I'm afraid to picture it without some of the people i talk to daily. It...just wouldn't be the same and it makes me really sad to know that maybe someday I won't be friends with these people. : /

It's probably just a phase in your life, Anna. Give it some time, maybe a year or two. It worked for me. I hardly touched a book for about three years besides study books... and now I'm back in the game. I'm reading more adult stuff, and am enjoying it as well. Though with growing older, you get more responsibilities and thus lesser time to read... *sigh*

Sas is right! No worries, okay? You're in a transition period in your life, so you're obviously focused on other things. :)

Btw, did I mention I'm taking Modern Greek this semester for fun? *G* I might have to Skype you and practice. ;)
