Fanfic-related rant

Three hours.

*fumes*

That's how long I spent curled in my bed this morning, trying to finish the last scene of The Journey Of The Phoenix. I thought of one thousand different directions, but all of them got stuck somewhere.

Stupid Remus, it's all his fault. He's said some things in previous chapters that I can't get him to rectify. *sob* They seemed like such good ideas at the time...

I think I might have to return to the original idea of the ending and work from there. I've deleted it from my computer, but I'd sent it to some people (including cyad) so I think it must be somewhere in my outbox.

If this story isn't complete by the end of my Easter break (i.e. May 1st) I swear I'll go crazy. I mean, I've been working on this scene since SEPTEMBER! Come ON!

Well, if it'd be of any help I can read what you have and perhaps make a few suggestions? Don't take it like you have to, but I'd be happy to help.

You know, I might take up on that offer ;)

I currently have a messed up file, with the story up to that scene and then a thousand tidbits on how to end it, including two versions that I had thought were final (each one at its time) but then decided were not good enough. And now I'm working on a version that seems to be going well, but I'm afraid I won't be able to incorporate in it something that I'd like to have in the story. Plus it's so angstless it feels out of tune with the rest of the fic.

Also - looking back at the tidbits, there's one that looks promising. (Gah. Me is so confused)

You know what? Even if I decide on one ending, I'll be glad to have someone tell me what they think. So, if you're willing to get involved in a 50-pages-long story (maybe around half the length if we isolate the Remus/Tonks-ness), send me an email ( lcannabtg [at] yahoo [dot] gr ) and I'll send it to you.

Ugh, I hate the ideas in fanfics which seem good at the time, but later in the story realise completely messes up the plot....damn our irrational selves...

I know nothing of HP, and don't care to, lol, but I have one suggestion--anything you take out of your fic, put in a separate document of written material you can't use. It *might* be useful someday, you never know. And anyways, it's just good to have everything saved. (g)

you know you're a lucky one? I was dusting up my laptop desk this WE and almost throw it away, but I decided to keep it since you hadn't finished it and... I might need to refresh my datas on JOTP when next part comes along. so, I'll put it on my key tonight and sent it over tomorrow.
