First post of the year
Jan. 1st, 2007 02:49 amHappy New Year, f-list! Hope you have/had a great evening! I did - we went over to some friends' and had a good time.
Now, ironically enough, the reason I'm posting this is to say that I'm not really into these 'obligatory' posts. You must have noticed I don't do the birthday posts, and I only did a Christmas one because I felt kinda bad not to - particularly since I was PMSing, so I knew there would be a lot of bitching following and a festive post would make me feel less guilty about it. So, from now on, expect me not to post for specific occasions unless I really, *really* feel like it.
But, since I'm here, I should mention one anniversary I'm celebrating in exactly 37 minutes from now.
So last year, we had stayed home for New Year's Eve. I had been online all day, and, at some point late in the afternoon (or early in the evening), I stopped by a HP fanfic recommendations thread, which recommended a story titled "Obsessive Lily Disorder" by some author that went by the nickname "Procrastinator-starting2moro". I went over, started reading, made an obligatory stop at midnight to celebrate with my family a bit and cut the vasilopita (Greek tradition - a pie you cut after the year has changed. There's a coin hidden inside and whoever gets the coin in their piece, will have good luck for the whole year.), then went back to reading. And after I was done reading, I reviewed. When I was done with the review, it was 3.37 a.m., 01/01/2006.
That's how and when I first met
incoherent_me. And meeting her on such an easy date is the only reason I remember exactly *when* I met her, because I'm not the kind of person to keep track of when I met whom :p And, no, I didn't remember the hour - but I went back to find the review, in case I was somehow mistaken about the date. The date reads 31 December, because FF.net works on a US timezone, but it was 1 January over here, and I had happened to mention in the review that I was reviewing at 3.37 a.m. :p So there you go.
It's practical to meet people on 1 January. So later you can calculate exactly how long you've known them. :D
Anyways, that's all from me. Have a super time, and all the best for the new year.
Anna. :)

Date: 2007-01-01 12:42 pm (UTC)Anyway, I must say I'm really glad to have you on my f-list :) Not only are you just a brilliant girl whose friendship I value a lot but you're one hell of a talented writer/beta to me. Really, you are. I don't know what I'd do without you. I look back at my writing now that hasn't been looked over by you and it's just bloody appalling. Merlin knows how you can read through the many typos I make and the insane writing I posses.
To sum it up: I love you very much :) The year has gone by so fast! Too many more *toasts*

Date: 2007-01-01 01:01 pm (UTC)I'm so glad to have met you, too! I'm sorry the post wasn't very enthusiastic - I'm bad at expressing my feelings, especially when it's in 'obligatory' situations like the post above. But I really mean it - you're one of my favourite people on this world, and I feel lucky to have met you. *hugs*
And, you're welcome ♥ I feel privileged to be your beta :)
A toast to many more anniversaries! *toasts*
See ya,
Anna.
