L&C S1 has finally arrived at Greece! With Greek subtitles and everything! I saw it myself, today at Fnac.
...It costs 55 euros. *frowns*
I'll wait to check out the prices in other stores. Perhaps will wait until Christmas, or the January sales. Otherwise, I may have to pay one of you guys to buy it and ship it over, since Dad doesn't approve of buying stuff online. Or, I don't know. I'll find a way to put my hands on that thing, I swear. And I can do without Greek subtitles, if it means I'll get it for a much lower price. I understand English just fine, thank you very much :p And if Amazon.com sells it for 30 dollars (22.5 euros), there's no way I'm paying over double the money for it.
On other news, I had a nice day today. Late wake up call, only three hours of class (two of which being Math things I'd never seen before, but managed to understand - though I had to ask the teacher for clarifications after class), then went out to The Mall with Christina, a good RL friend. There, we ran into Maria, another good RL friend who's moved to Patra for studies and I hadn't seen since July. It was nice to see her and catch up on each other's news :)
I'm still terribly behind on my online stuff. E-mail and LJ (and perhaps a bit of chatting) are the only online things I seem to be doing lately. Sigh...
That's all from me for now. Will see you around.
Anna :)

Date: 2006-12-02 08:39 am (UTC)I would advice changing your dad's mind about ordering on the internet. My parents were against it at first, but as I had my own credidcard, I just went ahead. My money, my life, my mistake. But it turned out good! So I convinced my parents that I'd only order from sited that are save. I recommend amazon and bol.com. It's fantastic! If it weren't for sites like those, I wouldn't be able to get my favourite books or my Doctor Who DVDs...

Date: 2006-12-02 10:25 am (UTC)I guess I'll have to give another shot at convincing my father. Only this means I'll definitely have to wait until Christmas... but hey, what's one more month, when I've been waiting for years? :p
See ya,
Anna.

Date: 2006-12-02 01:23 pm (UTC)L&C=Lois & Clark, an American TV show about Superman.
Thanks for the offer! But I'm afraid that DVDs bought in Philippines wouldn't play here :( Greece and Philippines are in different DVD zones, from what I know. (How stupid, making DVDs that don't work everywhere, or DVD players that don't read all DVDs.)
See ya,
Anna :)

Date: 2006-12-02 01:34 pm (UTC)i know that show! i used to watch it when i was 8!
and yes, it does seem quite pointless to make DVD players that can't read all kinds of DVDs.
but hey, that's life for you

Date: 2006-12-03 01:44 am (UTC)It's too late now, but tomorrow I'll find where I put "DVD Region Free" and send it to you. It's a tiny program that lets you play all regions on your PC/laptop. ;)
As for you regular DVD player, what make and model is it? I can check if there's a simple hack. Mine is a Philips, and just hitting a specific series of numbers on the remote while keeping the tray open did the trick and made it region free. *g*

Date: 2006-12-03 01:26 pm (UTC)I don't have a regular DVD player :p My parents don't watch movies much, so the DVD players on our computers suffice.

They dont charge postage and package for it. Check it out. If you agree I can get them for you. Assuming you can give me cash for them?
