My first icon! Whee!
Apr. 19th, 2006 08:06 pmSince the first time I read about Nymphadora Tonks in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, I've had a clear image of her in my head. The problem was... I couldn't show it to anybody!
Now I can! :))
As an avid Harry Potter and the Sims 2 fan, I recently made a neighbourhood with Harry Potter characters. Tonks, of course, couldn't be missing!
The thing is, that when you first make the characters in University student mode, your choices for haircuts are limited. So I did my best with the head and gave her a shoulder-length, bubblegum-pink haircut that was available. After playing with her for a while, though, I figured I'd change her hairstyle... I found this not-exactly-violet-but-close-enough spiky haircut and thought I'd try it... and dear me, there she was, as if she'd jumped just out of my head!!
I swear, since the moment I gave her that haircut, she was begging to be iconed. Now, all the experience I had with image programs was painting in Microsoft Paint *g*. But with its help, and a little bit of Photoshop (which came with the laptop but I'd never used it before) for the resizing and the conversion, I created this:

Neat, isn't it? *g* I also downloaded a Harry Potter font specifically for it.
Y'know what? Iconing is fun *g* I think I might make more icons. And, if I find a Harry Potter icons or a Sims 2 icons community, I might go share them. (To tell you the truth, I'm having 'itsmineitsmineitsmine' tendencies... but... it'd be nice to contribute to the iconing community, no? And maybe I'll see them become the new trend... oh, who am I kidding.)
Anyways. I gave it a shot as my default icon. Not bad, but I like my current one better. We'll see.
Off to study Advanced Mathematics... I have a test tomorrow...
See ya,
Anna.
