Computers, movies, TV, video games...
Sep. 8th, 2006 09:07 pmHey, all,
so, this past couple of days my mood hasn't been very good. I get crises of melancholy at random moments. I've been trying to figure out why, but there doesn't seem to be an important enough reason. Perhaps I'm kind of guilty because I owe Beta work to Poussin and comments on a HP story I've promised to read? Or maybe it's because my hard disk keeps getting full because of the La Mentira episodes. Though even without them (I burn them in DVDs after I watch them, so that they don't eat up too much space) I have lots of stuff - The Sims and The Sims 2 downloads (which I have installed but not deleted the original zip files for fear of forgetting what I've already downloaded), mp3s (
doranwen is party to blame for this), videos...
I seriously need to back up stuff. And I seriously need to buy CDs to back up stuff. Damn, I don't like backing up stuff. I like everything to be in my HD, but, alas, it has only too much space.
On the bright side of things, yesterday I met with
_phoebe_ for the first time. She's such a great girl :) We had a good time together; we sat at Starbucks, had something to drink and then watched Superman Returns :) It was the premiere yesterday. (Yes, it took THAT long for the movie to get here.)
The anecdote of the evening was that when I got to Starbucks, where she was supposed to be waiting for me, I took a look around the tables outside the coffee shop and she wasn't there. I thought something had delayed her. Waited 20 minutes until I realized there were tables *inside* the shop too, and that was where she was sitting. *headdesk* Though when you think about it, it's an amusing story :D
I liked the movie very much. Was hoping for more romance, but... guess I'll have to wait for the sequel. Wrote a review on it, which can be found here.
More good news: Getting good reviews on Through Times Of War :)
Have to catch up on my f-list; haven't checked it since yesterday (or today, very early in the morning, if you prefer). Will be commenting on your journals... after I get some dinner and watch "Στο παρά πέντε" (a Greek comedic series. Was a very big hit during the winter, but I had no time to watch it. The title, if loosely translated, means "In the nick of time". See this link for more information.).
Today was the last airing of Zorro, though :( Yes, I've failed to mention that I'd been watching the 1957-1959 Zorro series this summer. (The colorized version.) It was great, adventurous and fun, and Guy Williams is (well, was) very good-looking, not to mention that he looked great in black ;)
Also finished Super Mario Bros. on Nintendo DS today. Next I'm going to go back, play all the levels I haven't played and gather all the coins I haven't gathered, because I like Mario games that much.
Was feeling a little down when I started writing this post, but now I'm better. I'm off to see if dinner is ready already and, on this note, I shall finish this visual-media-ridden post.
Bye,
Anna.

I get weird melancholy times too. Though I usually can pin it down to something if I think about it awhile.

Anyway nice review on the sueprman bit...I didn't want to see it because i was expecting it to completely annihilate the old Christopher Reeves movies (again father's influence)...but according to ur review i was wrong.
I agree about The kate thing...i was like "her as Lois Lane?" Somehow i was expecting....well someone else at least.
I mgiht decide to watch it then...
Shrugs*
Oh btw
hahaha, i can't believe it took that long to come one where u live...

Date: 2006-09-09 11:32 am (UTC)Thanks for reading my review on SR. This movie has given mixed feelings to people. Yesterday I was discussing it with a friend, and he said he hated it and he wouldn't watch it again if you paid him :p
And yeah, movies and books take an awfully long time to come over here. *sigh*
See ya,
Anna.

Date: 2006-09-09 09:36 am (UTC)Do hope you're starting to feel better more often - feeling down and not being able to pinpoint why really, really sucks. :(

Date: 2006-09-09 11:35 am (UTC)I actually like Luigi more, because a) he's wearing green (I've always been partial to green) and b) we see him more rarely and I feel like I've got to make it up to him by liking him more :p
Not that I don't have fun playing with Mario, though *g* Finished another couple of levels yesterday *g*
See ya,
Anna :)

Date: 2006-09-14 09:17 pm (UTC)La Mentira episodes from where??? *wants to see* I've gone too long with no Mexican soap. Though there's a channel here that shows one at a time, but I never catch it. Also the old ones are better than the ones they make now.

Date: 2006-09-14 09:46 pm (UTC)Here's the link to the list of La Mentira episodes: http://miarroba.com/foros/ver.php?foroid=1054117&temaid=5442281
The older links have probably expired by now, but if you make me a list of those that have expired, I could upload them again for you or, better yet, copy the DVDs and send them to you via regular mail. Would save both of us much time and trouble.
I haven't watched a new soap opera in years. The oldest ones were of 1999 production (Laberintos De Pasión, Rosalinda). And it's only been reruns for me since then. I couldn't get into the new ones.
See ya,
Anna :)
P.S.:
