Me and my TV
Jan. 23rd, 2007 01:31 amHello, folks.
Hope you're having a great time :)
Today was a good day, all in all. No class (classes have officially stopped until February 19, which is when the spring semester begins - only exams until then), so I woke up late (natch), played Luigi's Mansion on the Wii, then went online and stayed online for hours, going through stuff like www.thisisbroken.com (oh, the hilarity!!)...
In the evening, we had people coming over because it was Dad's nameday. Thankfully, most of the kids/teenagers (gah, why can't you English people use 'kids' to mean 'young people' like we Greeks do?) that came over were boys, so I didn't have to play host. I don't really enjoy playing host to loud, energetic boys. I sat in my roomlike the recluse I am, online until 9, which is starting time for the TV series that would be translated as "Maria, the ugly" (a Greek rendition of Yo Soy Betty, La Fea - speaking of which, I should really start downloading the episodes for later viewing sessions, before the links I've found expire, but WAH I NEED SPACE). After Maria, it was time for the new episode of Sto Para Pente (at last!!!). In the middle of that a couple of girls came over (ages something like 16 and... 11?), but since almost everyone in Greece watches Sto Para Pente, we ended up watching all together, commenting and stuff. Then Sto Para Pente ended too and it was time for the first episode of a new TV series, a drama/angst/romance sort of thing, which would be translated as "With You". I'd been meaning to watch at least the first episode and see if it's any good because the lead actor is a hunk and since I never make good conversation with those girls, not even with the 16-year-old - hell, not even with her 18-year-old sister, who didn't come tonight - TV saved us. We watched the episode, again commenting and everything. I decided I'll follow the show. :p
Didn't study at all today. Yesterday I *did* study, after all. You see, it was a little past 11 p.m., so I figured I'd study a bit (read: half the book or so) before going to bed. For some reason, the first pages of the book work as an excellent soporific for me, so I gave it up and went to sleep at something like 11.15 p.m.. I woke up at 1.45 a.m. (messed up sleeping schedule, much?) and, feeling wide awake, I grabbed the book and didn't let go of it until about 5 a.m., when I was done reading it in its entirety.
Reading/studying in absolute silence is bliss.
But there's not going to be a repeat tonight. I'm too tired for that. Tomorrow...
...Though I can't help but feel a bit guilty at the thought that I didn't study at all today. :-/
Oh, well.
Will see you around. :)
Hope you're having a great time :)
