Remus/Tonks-y movie thoughts

Has anyone of you seen If Only? I was zapping channels this morning (well, you English-speaking people would call it afternoon, since it was past noon) and it was just starting on the paid channel, so I figured, why not?

There's something very Remus/Tonks-like about this movie. The characters, the way they act... the introverted guy, so worried about the future, trying to make everything go right and prevent all the bad things (and failing dismally), and the vivid, happy girl who seizes the day, whose biggest joy in the world is being with the man she loves.

Remus probably wouldn't forget his girlfriend's graduation concert, but hey. Can't have everything.

Besides, even the looks fit. Well, not the age difference, but see this still from the film. Jennifer Love Hewitt with short hair matches my mental image of Tonks very well. A sweet girl, but not drop-dead gorgeous. And Paul Nicholls - he might not be my Remus of choice, but take a careful look at the pic! The serious British gentleman and the youthful girl worried about him - it's just SCREAMING Remus/Tonks.

(I'm *so* submitting this picture as a prompt for the next rt_challenge ficathon.)

I enjoyed watching this movie. The end is bittersweet, and while I was hoping for a really happy end, it fits. Won't say more for fear of spoiling you, in case you want to watch it ;)

Good to know you agree! I was a little afraid it was me seeing Remus/Tonks everywhere and that I'd get reactions like, "duh, what's Remus/Tonks about it?"

There's much to be fangirly about, though, I can guarantee you this. To tell you the truth, after I made the connection (around the half of the movie?), everything was passing through a filter in my head and being rated in Remus/Tonks-ness points *g*

No, it's definitely there. I see what you mean about Jennifer Love Hewitt, especially in that shot.

Hah, that's what I'll be doing when I see it. "Ooh, this is sooo Remus/Tonks! ::giggle::" Except I'm not much of a giggler. But I probably would for Harry Potter fangirlyness.

That screams Remus/Tonks! Yeah, not sure about that guy for Remus, but Jennifer Love Hewitt is SUCH a good Tonks. I definitely will have to watch it.

Yeah, isn't she? I went looking for more pics of her with short hair but didn't find any. Only some with her hair up in a bun that had nothing Tonks-y about them. Such a shame.

i dont know remus/tonks (i gather that's an HP thing??) and i havent seen (or heard of) this movie. so i shouldnt even be commenting, lol. but i clicked the pic link, and it was cute. so i'm commenting for that. LOL.
