So there's this big amusement park here in Athens, called Allou. It's very big, with several rides and attractions. I've been there once, and I admit it's lots of fun. My brothers really want to go (they've been there a few times each already, but they love it), so they asked Dad today if he'll take them - they're planning to get day-long tickets and spend hours there.

When they asked me if I wanted to go, I said that where I really want to go is the Deep Purple concert. (Link provided for those too American to know ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS IN THE HISTORY OF HARD ROCK.)

My brothers, despite being great fans of hard rock, prefer Allou. Dad says that I can choose whether to go to the concert or Allou.

The million dollar question is, if I choose to go to the concert, am I being a bad sister? I can't help but feel like it because 'a good sister would want to have fun with her brothers'. Then again, my brothers don't exactly need me in order to have fun, but judging by the way Thodoris (my little brother) asks me at random times, "Will you come with us if we go to Allou?" (yes, they've been planning it since summer started) I think he'd like me to go along.

Now, I don't mind a morning in Allou with my brothers; I'm sure I'll have fun, and I'll also get to spend some time with them. I know it doesn't look like there's a problem in that aspect, what with us living in the same house and all, but I sometimes feel guilty about not spending as much time with Thodoris as with Christos. (Because Christos is only one year younger than me, and there are more things to do together.) So, while I prefer the concert, if I could go to both, I'd like to.

The bad thing about going to both is that it will be unfair to the boys. In my house, we have a policy of every kid getting equal amounts of enjoyment. And if I go to both, I get double, which means:

a) increased possibility of Thodoris starting to complain that he wants to come along to the concert. (He didn't seem too interested today, granted, but one can't count on it.) The thing is, rock concerts are not exactly the place for 11-year-olds. Not to mention that a ticket costs 50€.

b) a lot of guilt for me, because Christos, ever the easy-going child, won't mind, but I'll be thinking that if I were him, I'd have minded and I'll want to make it up to him, but there'll be nothing he'll want in return because he'll be just fine with it, and so we'll have a Christos feeling just fine and an Anna feeling terribly guilty.

Excellent.

Now, I'm probably overreacting. And if I discuss it with my father, I'm sure he'll find a way to get me out of this mangled train of thought. But I guess I needed to vent, so that a) I sort things out a little in my head and b) I'll be calmer when I get to talk to him. So... sorry you had to witness this venting.

See ya,
Anna.

you're not being a bad sister by chooding the concert. You'rte just being honest with yourself.

If it makes you feel better, I'd choose the concert too. 'cause you won't have that kind of opportunity twice. Allou'll be there forever.Plus you've already been there, done that. Never been to a DP concert before? Have you?

dunno if that helps, but have a great sunday.

I deleted the first one, so no pro :)

And no, never been to a DP concert before. But I'm willing to bet it'll be awesome - for one, the line-up includes Gillan, Glover and Paice! Not to mention that there's nothing but awesome songs to play ;)

Dad and Thodoris are back. Everything went fine, and they had a great time. Imagine that, they even visited Eurodisney! :) The presentation went fine, too, although you know that things are fuzzy with the scores and everything at that sport. Anyway.

See ya, and you're welcome :)

OMG!!

I wish I was there.

Saw Angela uyesterday to update on the wedding preparatives and my! what a work load! Her dress is ready and yesterday I put together a book for Firmino and her and she love it and was so touched by it that she cried. Which completely starteled me, but I'm glad they liked it!that was kind of the idea.

they went to Eurodisney?!!! that's were Angela&Firmino leave. mind you, Firmino works there. Plus it's only 1.15 from my place by train. If I'd known we could've met. they could even have stayed home. Airport is only 20 min by car. Why didn't you tell me?

Anyway, I hope they had a great time, even at Eurodisney. Did they visit both parks (main and the cinema focused one)? did they bring back souvenirs?

LOL+TC+have an awesome week,

Carole ♥

PS: I hope it's not too hot in Athens. Here, we're above 30 and mum, said outside temperature was 36 in Britanny!! They've never seen that in a century.

I didn't know they would go until they called and said they were on their way *g* Dunno exactly where they went, but they definitely went to the Space Mountain (got pics to prove it *g*). Besides, they couldn't have stayed there - Thodoris had to be with the team.

Glad the wedding preparations are going well.

Anna.

Space Mountain? WOW! I chickened out on that one 'cause last time I went on such an attraction, they had to stop it and get me down. And if you had a great spinning, it's even worse.But...even those of my friends who like rollercoasting like mad said it was, too crazy. Infernous.

Team. right. The point was, next time they're around, don't hesitate. They'll even be welcome at A&F'.

Carole

ROFL . . . I see a mention of me, eh? But seriously, I don't know many bands at all. Has less to do with my Americanness than it has to do with my obliviousness with regards to most rock-type music. *g*

As for choices . . . Allou you can do again, concert's once in a long while, maybe even lifetime, right? So Carole's right--choose what you'll have the least opportunity to go to. And find something to do with your brothers another time. I'm sure there are smaller things you can do with Thodoris, for instance, if you're trying to find something to do to spend time with him. In my house we'd play games or something. We've got a million board/card games to play with, and my brother loves those, so a lot of times I'd play games with him. Fun times . . .

LOL, I won't deny you were the first person that sprang to mind, although, as I told you that day, these European bands aren't very well-known at your side of the Atlantic.

I'm thinking the same thing, so I guess that's what I'm going to end up doing. Thanks for the opinion :)

See ya,
Anna :)
