Why are people calling at 4.23 p.m.??

First of all, it's rude to call between 2.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.. People are taking their afternoon naps, you know!

Second... I'm trying to download La Mentira, and you're ruining my connection!! Do you know how hard it is to get in the megaupload.com priority list if you don't have an account?

*whimpers as the 68% that had already been downloaded goes to waste*

And, wasn't ADSL connection supposed to work despite of whether the phone line is being used or not?

*grumblesgrumblesgrumbles*

And there I was hoping for an alternative to studying Statistics... *sniff*

/me is off to try downloading the third episode... for the THIRD time. Gah.

Download's on 47% for now... I need about an hour and a half more, and it's 11.16 p.m.. There better not be any more phone calls... *shakes fist at imaginary callers* I want to have a freshly downloaded episode in Spanish for tomorrow. Because the dubbed re-run just isn't enough, y' know?

Hell if I know, Gloria. Half the times phone calls interrupt it. Usually it gets restored quickly, but sometimes it doesn't. And megaupload.com is the kind of site where you can't afford to lose your connection, otherwise it's back from the beginning... *grumbles*

It's mighty annoying, and I don't know whether there's a problem with the equipment, or that's the way it works. You know, 'well, the connection just goes bad for a few seconds, that's not a big deal!'

Hrmph.

So you don't do that?
It's relatively common here in Greece to take a nap or, at least, some rest during the early hours of the afternoon. Not *everyone* does that, of course (some prefer to make phone calls at that time... *grumbles*). I picked it up when I was twelve, and now, in my family, it's 3 vs. 2 (me and my parents vs. my brothers).

I guess it's kinda like the Mexican siesta. Wonder if it has to do with climate? I mean, at these hours when it's very hot, it's better not to be very active, no?

Not where I am, we don't do that! Not in Honduras either, despite the heat. Maybe it's different depending on where you are in the country, but where I was they didn't seem to do it.

Besides, if you've got air conditioning and a computer, it's a great time to be on. :D
