First of all, I've done practically the same before: http://annabtg.livejournal.com/20236.html

Anyways...

Tagged by [livejournal.com profile] xxxmsmexxx:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next three sentences in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.
6. Tag five other people to do the same.

Dictionaries aside...

And the much-needed translation, as best as my English (plus shameless use of dictionaries and online resources) allows me:

"The interaction of a hormone with the extracellular part of the hormonal receptor, which makes for a connecting area of high attraction, creates changes of shape and form in the proteinic receptor that spread through the area that goes through the membrane to the intracellular area of the receptor. As a result, the intracellular area either becomes enzymically active, or it can interact with the cytoplasmic proteins that are involved in the production of what we call second messages. Each mechanism completes the transmission of the hormonal signal along the membrane."

Oh, and I have to tag five people too?

Leaving it optional (after all, I almost forgot to do it), [livejournal.com profile] ow200, [livejournal.com profile] doranwen, [livejournal.com profile] ukcgirl81, [livejournal.com profile] elshadye and [livejournal.com profile] beansideirae.

I had more to say but after all this effort I don't really feel like doing it. Maybe later.

See ya,
Anna.
