Long meme thing (as Sarah called it), and some Greek history

I was working on my NaNoWriMo story (4,075 words. I fail at writing. Go me.) while downloading telenovelas, but the phone keeps getting picked up because my mom keeps calling people or people keep calling her (every morning it's the same thing... sigh), and since procrastinating me has yet to stick a knife to her father's throat and get him to go buy her some ADSL filters for the phones, the downloads keep getting interrupted, thus making me want to tear my hair out.

(Look at that long sentence! I should submit it to the Bulwer-Lytton contest.)

Oh, yeah, I failed to mention that I'm at home because there are no classes at the university today or tomorrow. Tomorrow, you see, is a school holiday in honour of a number of students who locked themselves up in the National Technical University of Athens in November 14, 1973 to protest about the military dictatorship we had going on back then. Police forces were sent on the scene, but the students would not back down. On the 17th, the military sent three tanks. Many were killed.

This is the story in a nutshell.

-Name: Anna Botsakou.
-Birthplace: My ID card says "Holargos, Attiki".
-Current Location: Athens, Greece.
-Eye Color: Some call them brown, some call them green. I think it's what the English-speaking people call 'hazel'.
-Skin Color: Slightly tanned (enough so that I don't get sunburnt easily), but health-wise, pale. I often get told that I should drink more orange juice :p
-Hair Color: Light brown. Gets blondish and reddish streaks under the sun. I've had people ask me whether I have highlights :D
-Body type: Pear: Thin torso, big thighs :p
-Righty or Lefty: Righty.
-Zodiac Sign: Taurus.
-Heritage: Last name clearly says Mani (southeast Peloponnese), and that's what counts the most. The family of my dad's dad originates from there. The family of my mom's dad originates from Pontus (they were Greeks living in the Turkish coasts of the Black Sea). Grandmas are from other places. I have a little bit of various places, but I'm Greek to the bone :D

PAST.
-first grade teacher's name: Gogo Tsiodra. I had her in first, second and third grade. I loved her, she was so nice :) (And I was one of her favourite students :D) I want to go to my primary school someday...
-last word you said: I think it must have been "Ne" (=yes). I answered the question, "do you want to eat?" *forks potato*
-last song you sang: Umm... which was the song I was singing all day yesterday...? Oh, yes! "We Are" by Ana Johnsson.
-last thing you laughed at: Something that was said yesterday during Maths class. We amused ourselves well, but I don't remember which was the *last* laughter-worthy thing.
-last time you cried: Oh, I think it's been a while. The last time I remember was in June, when I got frustrated trying to convince my father that even if I didn't know what I wanted to study, I was sure Civil Engineering was NOT it. (Thankfully, one of the arguments I gave him really got him thinking.)

PRESENT.
-what's in your cd player: Nothing. (What? I'm listening to my mp3s :D)
-what color socks are you wearing: White sports socks with a maroon stamp.
-what time did you wake up today: At 10.30, then went back to sleep until 11, and then once again until noon. I normally wake up at 7 four days a week, cut me some slack here!!

FUTURE.
-what is your career going to be: Something Pharmacy related, hopefully - I wouldn't want my studies to go to waste. Other than that, I wouldn't mind becoming a professional writer someday :D
-where are you going to live: Here in Greece, definitely. I don't know if it will be Athens or someplace else, though.
-how many kids do you want: Three.
-what kind of car will you drive: If we're talking about the near future, a not-too-small one, of Asian build, in a bright, lively colour (unless Christos protests - in a couple of years, he'll be driving too, and we may have to share). We'll be buying it come January :D

CURRENT.
-current hair: In a ponytail. They're almost always in a ponytail when I'm home.
-current clothes: Pyjamas in pale yellow :)
-current annoyance: Now that I distracted myself from the interrupted downloads, nothing. Or perhaps the fact that for the second time in a row I tried to type 'interrump' instead of 'interrupt', before I remembered that it's 'interrumpir' and it's SPANISH.
-current smell: *sniffs* Nothing. I just took my (now empty) plate of roast and potatoes back to the kitchen.
-current want: Some water... I'm thirsty.
-current favorite music artist: I'm currently listening to Natalia, and she pwns. (Here's a good link, but it's in Spanish. You should have no trouble getting a clue, though.) (And yes, I like pop music. So sue me.)
-current book: I'd started "Sophie's World" by Jostein Gaarder, but I haven't read from it in a while - I blame the university classes :p
-current worry: At this moment, nothing. Generally these days, that I may be too obvious regarding... I'll have to tell you someday.
-current hate: Eh, nothing. Perhaps not having ADSL filters?
-story behind your username: It stands for 'Anna B. the Greek', which is the nick I adopted on the L&C boards when I realized that Anna_B. didn't make me so unique. Thankfully, the other Anna B. that was there wasn't Greek :D
-current favorite article of clothing: Uh, I don't know. Usually it's something I haven't worn in a while and I 'miss'. For example, there's this blouse my godmother gave me last Christmas (I think), beige with colorful designs and letters that look like they're taken from a fashion magazine. Haven't worn it since last winter, and I really want to. Maybe one of these days, if the weather's good...
-favorite physical feature on a guy: The eyes. Especially if they're blue.
-one person you wish was here right now: athanamia - I wish she were here almost every day.

-i am happiest when: Everything's going well, duh! :D

-do you think too much: Depends. Usually, I do, though sometimes my lazy mind just turns itself off. And such times come more and more often lately :(

-famous person you want to meet: Uh, Jesus? I might find it really cool to go to concerts of favourite groups, but meeting famous people isn't exactly high on my priorities list. I like to meet people I can be friends with, regardless of fame status.
-sex or love: Love.
-favorite coffee: I don't normally drink coffee. Although that French coffee with much sugar and much milk athanamia made me once was good.
-favorite smell: Jasmine. Many foods smell nice too, but those make me hungry so they're kind of frustrating too :D
-what makes you mad: My brothers being noisy, my mom being nosy, Yahoo! and LJ being down, and many other little things.
-favorite way to waste time: Filling out such questionnaires *g*
-what is your best quality: I like to be helpful.
-are in currently in love/lust: Maybe... *shifty eyes*
-any bad habits: I often have people ask me to lower my voice down a bit. I don't mind talking very loudly if I don't think there's something to hide, but then again, I find few things worth hiding. Therefore, I come off as thoughtless sometimes. Another bad habit: showing off.
-do you find it hard to trust people: Usually not.
-bath or shower: Shower. I have a fear of microbes, and I certainly don't want the microbes that gather on my body to swim in the bathwater with me *shudders*
-favorite season: Spring. The loveliest weather :)
-favorite color: Dark green and purple.
-favorite flavour: Chocolate, cola drinks, many ice cream flavours :D
-favorite time of day: It depends on the weather, my schedule and my mood.
-gold or silver: Silver fits my style better.
-any secret crushes: It's the 'secret' part that forces me to say no :p

FASHION.
-how many coats and jackets do you own: Four coats, six jackets. (Took me a while to count them all.)
-do you wear a watch: Always. I feel naked and lost without a watch.
-favorite pants color: If we're talking pants=trousers, black, because it goes with everything. If we're talking underwear, beige (because I can wear it with my white trousers and it won't show :p).
-most expensive item of clothing: My prom dress. The one piece of clothing I might never wear again in my life. But it was awesome, fit me great and made quite an impression, so it was worth it :D (Also, I didn't pay for it with my own money :p)
-most treasured: Oh, I don't know. Maybe my white pair of jeans.
-your style: Simple and everyday. I don't like the 'too loud' treatment. Sometimes I wear things that are not into 'teen fashion' (for example, trousers that aren't jeans, or right-above-the-ankle boots with high heels), but I can pull it off without making it look too sophisticated. (I think.)

YOUR FRIENDS.
-do your friends know you: Yes, and that involves knowing I'm likely to surprise them anytime by revealing a strange habit or hobby :D
-what do they tend to be like: In RL, most of my friends are the reserved kind of people that doesn't attract too much attention, but they're not boring at all - quite the opposite, they're interesting, smart and know how to have fun :) Online, I've met many, very different people.
-can you count on them: Not on all of them.
-can they count on you: Definitely. In fact, sometimes I'm too much of a doormat.

LAST
-last book you read: "Mystery of Banshee Towers" by Enid Blyton. Re-read, actually. Last book I read for the first time must be Lauren Weisberger's "The Devil Wears Prada".
-last movie you saw: Oh, I haven't watched any movies in a while. I saw "You, Me and Dupree" on the movies, one month and a half ago, and since then I may not have watched one movie in its entirety. Sometimes I watch tidbits or bigger bits when I'm zapping in boredom.
-last song you heard: Before the song I'm listening to right now was "Someday" by Nickelback.
-last thing you had to drink: A glass of water, last night. I haven't had anything to drink today, strangely.
-last thing you ate: The aforementioned roast with potatoes.
-last time you showered: Yesterday.
-last time you smiled: Yesterday night, when I was catching up on mock_the_stupid.
-last time you laughed: Didn't you ask that before? *scrolls up* Apparently, no, though the question was very similar. Anyways, yesterday during Maths class (which was during 1-3 p.m., if you're THAT curious).
-last person you hugged: Must have been my mom.
-last person you kissed: Again, Mom.
-last person you talked to online: doranwen.
-last person you talked to on the phone: If Skype counts, doranwen, again. Otherwise, my dad - called him yesterday to come pick me up from the train station.

-sleep with stuffed animals: I have a lot of stuffed animals sitting on my bed while I'm sleeping, but I don't hug them or anything.
-have a crush: This I DID answer before. (Not very clearly, but I did.)

-play an instrument: The synthesizer and the piano. (Yes, they are two different things. I'm much better at the former.)
-believe there is life on other planets: Not sure. But I definitely DON'T believe the stories about people being abducted by aliens, UFO sightings and stuff like that.
-read the newspaper: When I happen to come across one, and not all the articles.
-have any gay or lesbian friends: No, or at least not that I know of. But it's not because I avoid them, I just don't know any gay or lesbian people.
-believe in miracles: Yes.
-consider yourself tolerant: With some things/people.
-consider police a friend or foe: A friend, but not a very reliable one.
-like the taste of alcohol: It depends on the drink. For example, I like Gordon's Space, but I hate beer.
-have a favorite stooge: No, never even seen them.
-believe in astrology: No, although I find it fun to explore what it has to say about people's personalities, romantic matches etc.. Yet, I never, ever read my horoscope. It feels utterly silly.

-go or plan to attend college: I go to the university.

-wish on stars: On shooting stars, and just for fun. (Or, I would, but I don't think I've ever seen a shooting star :( ) I don't believe in superstitions, but there's something fun about following them.

-believe in the easter bunny: No. And it's not a Greek tradition anyway.

-have a second family: My online friends are like a family sometimes :) And then there's athanamia, who's like the sister I never had :)
