Hi all!

I hope you're all doing fine. This past week was great for me; many good things happened.

Starting with the school-related stuff, my evening class teacher's Adv. Maths exam turned out exactly 96% after all. I also took an Adv. Maths exam at school on Thursday. It was more difficult, because there were no theoretical questions at all, just four exercises. They were not a piece of cake, but not impossible-to-do either (at least, not for me) and I'm expecting no less than 18/20. The two exams in the previous semester, one on imaginary numbers and one on functions/limits, had been 9/20 and 10/20 respectively. So it's a great improvement, don't you think?
In any case, the evening class teacher told my father I'm bound to perform very well at the finals, so I'm not worrying. And the school teacher always says that those exams he's giving us are difficult on purpose, so that we can train on quick thinking etc.. So I think I could honestly say I'm on a good track here :)

Continuing with the fanfic related stuff... starting with L&C, the biggest news is that my series-of-two No Excuse/No Excuse At All is nominated for Best Super Short at the Kerths!!!

*gasp*

It's the first time I get a Kerth nomination, and I'm appropriately thrilled. I knew FoLCs had liked these stories (much more than I had expected them to), and a couple of them had even told me it was Kerth material, but... well, to actually see my name among the nominees...
I've often thought about Kerths, hoping that some day I'd find my name in the list of nominees - or even winners. To me, it was something possible, but not likely. But, being the optimist (and overly confident person :D) I am, I always look at the nominees/winners lists of every competition I participate in with hope that I might have made it. So seeing that I had really made it wasn't exactly a shock - rather like a mild, pleasant surprise. Truth is, I'm very difficult to surprise fully, because my imagination always works overtime, so many of the things that happen to me are things I've thought about, dreamt, wished or feared. The only things that surprise me are things that have never crossed my mind - which happens very rarely.

I'm very proud of this nomination :)) I told my family and three RL friends of mine who I knew would care. Upon seeing what a big grin on my face I had while telling them, my father asked me out of how many stories mine got nominated (so that he could understand exactly how big a deal it is). So I went to the eligible stories list and counted. 73!! That was indeed shocking; I had expected around 30-35.
As for my friends, the one who found it the most impressive was Konstantinos. You could see him impressed and excited at the same time. I think that what he finds most amazing is the possibility of me becoming an 'award-winning author' :D

In all honesty? I don't believe I'll win. I *will* be hoping to win, of course - how can I not? But just being nominated is an honour beyond measure for me, and I'm happy to know my work is appreciated so much :)

Changing the subject, I finally decided to submit my best L&C fics to FF.net as well. Started with 'What A Fish Knows', and will be putting up more sometime in the future. As for my Harry Potter fics, they're progressing :)

Today is St. Theodoros day; my little brother, my grandfather and my cousin (who share this name) celebrate. So tonight we're all going over to grandpa's for the festivitites, like we do every year. Many people will be there, family, his friends... and grandma is going to cook her best, without a doubt :))

So... I guess that's all for now. See ya!
Anna :)
